Lead Product Design Teacher

An exciting opportunity for a Lead Product Design Teacher to join our growing Academy

In 2012, Bolingbroke Academy opened with the vision to create a centre of excellence. We are extremely proud of our outstanding first set of GCSE results in English, Maths, Science, Modern Foreign Languages (MFL) and Performing Arts. We are seeking an exceptional Product Design Teacher to join our pioneering school and contribute to our school’s mission. We are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Lead Product Design Teacher. You will have experience of teaching across the age and ability range in Product Design and ideally, be able to teach another area of Design Technology. Job Description

Reporting to:          Head of department/lead practitioner

The Role

  • To develop, lead and manage the effective delivery of an outstanding Maths curriculum to ensure all our pupils make excellent progress.
  • To lead all aspects of teaching, learning and assessment within the department.
  • To collaborate effectively with other members of the department to ensure outstanding practice.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, resource and delivery lessons and sequences of lessons to the highest standard that ensure real learning takes place and pupils make superior progress
  • Provide a nurturing classroom and academy environment that helps pupils to develop as learners
  • Help to maintain/establish discipline across the whole Academy
  • Contribute to the effective working of the Academy.

Outcomes and activities
Teaching and Learning

  • Use regular assessments to monitor progress and set targets and determine appropraiet intervention
  • Ensure that all student achieve at chronological age level or, if well elow level, make siginificant and continuing progress towards achieving at level
  • Maintain regular and productive communication with parents about their child’s progress, behaviour and development, including attending after school parent meetings as required
  • Maintain accurate student data that can be used to make teaching more ffective
  • Closely monitor progress and attainment of their pupils and use it to inform their teaching
  • Ensure that all pupils achieve or exceed academy targets

  • Develop a culture that is committed to high achievement and where the learning of students is our focus

Person Specification

Qualification Criteria

  • Right to work in the UK.
  • Qualified to degree level and above

Experience

  • Experience of raising attainment in a challenging classroom environment
  • Evidence of continually improving the teacher and learning of their subject through classroom delivery, schemes of work and extra-curricular activities
  • Experience of teaching student of all abilities across key stages.
