Sixth Form Administrator

Job Description:

Sixth Form Administrator


Reports to:      Head of Sixth Form

Start date:       As soon as possible

Contract:          Term time only or full time considered

Salary:              Ark Support Scale 5 £20,583 to £24,376 (pro rata if term time only)


The Role

To provide administrative support for the Sixth Form.

To supervise the Sixth Form study room.


Key responsibilities

  • Sixth Form reception duties
  • Assist in printing/distributing sixth form student timetables, creating/printing sixth form student materials
  • Deal with day to day student enquiries, issue off site passes to sixth form students once correct documentation is produced
  • Supervision of Sixth Form students in study room
  • Administration of Sixth Form applications, interviews and contracts
  • Collection and collation of assessment data
  • Collection and collation of attendance data by lesson, daily and weekly summaries, half termly summary and termly report.
  • Collection and collation of enrichment activities undertaken by students  to inform UCAS applications
  • Generation of flow charts, resource materials for pastoral programmes
  • Attendance and punctuality tracking, including updating termly attendance display for 100% attendance and 100%
  • Presentation of data for reports, progression information, destination and marketing
  • Marketing: updating of web site, updating of subject offer booklet, updating sixth form prospectus, administrative support in preparation for Open evenings and Action Planning Days
  • Administration support to process enrolment data at point of entry in September
  • Administration of Induction programmes
  • General administration support to 6th form Head of Year and Head of Subject



  • Assist with administration of sixth form events and trips as directed by Head of Year or Head of Subject
  • To provide main reception duties when required and assist in the wider administration/support staff team
  • Support in student intervention strategies
  • Assist in results day
  • To undertake training and development relevant to the post and in line with the academy’s developing profile
  • To undertake any reasonable task as directed by the Principal or Head of Sixth Form.

Qualification Criteria

  • English and Mathematics GCSE (or equivalent) at Grade C or above
  • Ideally qualified to at least A-level
  • Right to work in the UK.



  • Experience of working in a school environment is ideal but not essential
  • Experience of working with young people is ideal but not essential.

  • Extremely organised and able to deliver on time and to agreed quality standards
  • Ability to work well as part of a team
  • Understands the importance of confidentiality and discretion.
